Poole Town FC Wessex Under 14s ran out winners today in the final of the Bournemouth League Cup v Holt U14s.

It was a hesitant start from both teams with expected nerves on show.

It was Holt that took the lead with a well taken corner which was met with a header in the box.

Poole levelled the game after a rifling shot from Ryan Lay from outside the area.

The game ebbed and flowed in the second half with both teams feeling the effect of the sunshine and dry pitch.

Poole found themselves down to ten men after a second yellow was shown to one of their players.

Both teams battled hard with chances being created at either end.

It was Poole who nudged in front after a calmly taken penalty from Seth Hogan.

With only a few minutes to go, Jacob Musleh Carter bundled the ball in from a crowded goalmouth to take the final score to 3-1.

Both teams played some exceptional football and all the players from both sides can be proud of getting to the final.

However it was Poole who took home the trophy. Well done to the young Dolphins 🐬🐬
